Im gonig out tonight...in my red high heels!
This summer on my road trip I had a theme song. A song that I played whenever I wanted to have more energy to drive, a song that pumped me up, a song I could sing at the top of my lungs and dance to in my seat while I was driving, and the song was Red High Heels by Kellie Plickler. Strange pick-I admit, but there is a story behind it.
When I was in Edmonton, Tess, Jess and Nathan AKA Awec and I all went to a crazy dirty bar called Oil City, and as you can imagine my feet were sticking to the floor, I had many boys in their early 20s hitting on me and I believe there were broken glasses and beer bottles everywhere! But we had so much fun! People were line dancing to this song wearing cowboy hats and cowboy boots! and they all knew how, it was insane! And my friend Jess (god love her) gets out there and starts trying to do it too! I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life! Well there were a few other things on my road trip that almost had me peeing my pants too, but this was in the top 5!
Its crazy how songs can bring back so many memories for people. Like whenever I listen to Steve Earle I think about how when I was a kid my dad played his tape for about 5 years over and over again in his pick up truck until it finally broke, or when I hear a random song from high school I can remember what grade it came out in, and it always reminds me of different people, places and events:)
Are there any songs in your life that you love because they remind you of something fun, sad, or someone special?
