I bought this kit by Cover Girl a few weeks ago to wear on a date and it is awesome! I love how natural the smoky eye looks and it takes no time at all. Only three steps and it's natural enough to wear during the day. The best part was the price... I got it for $8.99! I wish I would have got the Glamour Look and the Bold Look too!
Happy weekend my lovelies! I am heading to the city yet again to go to the Everything to do with Sex Show with a few of my girlfriends... should be an interesting time! I will try to take a few pictures and share them with you. Other than that I have no other plans for the weekend...
The theme for 2011 is "Play for Literacy." Playing games creates a strong family bond, promotes language comprehension and improves reading skills.
On January 27 and throughout the year, try some fun play-based literacy activities that your whole family will enjoy:
- Host a family game night where everyone reads instructions, participates and keeps score.
- Turn off the radio in the car and play games involving billboards, signs and license plates.
- Open a book and make up a story using the pictures.
- Follow a recipe to make a batch of cookies. This helps improve math skills (with a treat at the end!).
- Play card games like "Go Fish" to help children learn to articulate sounds and improve memory development.
- Have a scavenger hunt! Give kids a list of items hidden around the house and ask them to find them.
Thought I would share some photos of my day! There has been crazy snow here all day long!!! And I had to share the yummy supper my Moma made me:) Scallops, corn and baked potato!!! My favourite!

I have came to the realization that I love all things heated, heated blankets, heated seats, clothes that just came out of the dryer, heated body oil... and the list could go on and on... I finally broke down and bought a heated blanket last weekend and it is the best. investment. EVER. I am sooooooooooo happy not to be cold all the time:) And with the temperatures this last week here in freezing cold Canada, I couldn't have had better timing! I think I am in love;)

But don’t forget who you really are. And I’m not talking about your so-called real name. All names are made up by someone else, even the one your parents gave you. You know who you really are. When you’re alone at night, looking up at the stars, or maybe lying in your bed in total darkness, you know that nameless person inside you…Your muscles will toughen. So will your heart and soul. That’s necessary for survival. But don’t lose touch with that person deep inside you, or else you won’t really have survived at all.-Louis Sachar
"I believe that when you stop renewing, and are no longer open to change and the possibilities that continually unfold, you stop being alive and are just getting through the years. Transformation doesn't happen unless you're willing: It's your choice."
I just bought some of this lovely body butter! It's super nourishing with shea and cocoa butters, along with vitamin E! I got the yummy smelling Fresh Grapefruit which is sooooooooo nice on a cold winters day:) Can't wait to give the rest of the Joe Fresh bath line a try!
I am super excited to try this EOS lip balm!!! A wee bit of Summer during these long cold winter months:)
EOS says: “This 95% natural, petrolatum and paraben-free, daily-use lip balm provides anti-bacterial protection with the use of Phenol and offers medicated relief to help sooth dry lips and alleviate symptoms of cold sores. Its revolutionary smooth sphere packaging provides a direct, hygienic application and is packed with antioxidants, zinc, vitamins C and E, shea butter and jojoba oil to keep your lips healthy and germ-free this season!”
Along with my trying to drink heaps of water this year I have also added a Vitamin D supplement to my diet. As a vegetarian that does eat fish but wears SPF 40 it is hard for me to get the amount of vitamin D I need.
Here are natural places to get Vitamin D:
Beef liver (gross)
Fish liver oils
Sun (without sunscreen)
I take two 1000 IU a day, one with lunch and one with supper. I also take a Vitamin C and a super multi Vitamin too with these meals! I try to take only half of each of these pills at a time because it is hard for your body to digest a large amount of vitamins at one time, it is much easier if they taken over a period of time.
Benefits of Vitamin D:
Maintenance of healthy bones
An immune system regulator (fights the common cold)
Linked to maintaining a healthy body weight
Can reduce the frequency of asthma symptoms
Reduced the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis
Significantly lowers the risk of developing Cancer
