How to create a Natural Smoky Eye Look
I bought this kit by Cover Girl a few weeks ago to wear on a date and it is awesome! I love how natural the smoky eye looks and it takes no time at all. Only three steps and it's natural enough to wear during the day. The best part was the price... I got it for $8.99! I wish I would have got the Glamour Look and the Bold Look too!

Family Literacy Day
Family Literacy Day takes place annually on January 27 to celebrate adults and children reading and learning together, and to encourage Canadians to spend at least 15 minutes enjoying a learning activity as a family every day.
The theme for 2011 is "Play for Literacy." Playing games creates a strong family bond, promotes language comprehension and improves reading skills.
On January 27 and throughout the year, try some fun play-based literacy activities that your whole family will enjoy:
- Host a family game night where everyone reads instructions, participates and keeps score.
- Turn off the radio in the car and play games involving billboards, signs and license plates.
- Open a book and make up a story using the pictures.
- Follow a recipe to make a batch of cookies. This helps improve math skills (with a treat at the end!).
- Play card games like "Go Fish" to help children learn to articulate sounds and improve memory development.
- Have a scavenger hunt! Give kids a list of items hidden around the house and ask them to find them.

Don't forget...
But don’t forget who you really are. And I’m not talking about your so-called real name. All names are made up by someone else, even the one your parents gave you. You know who you really are. When you’re alone at night, looking up at the stars, or maybe lying in your bed in total darkness, you know that nameless person inside you…Your muscles will toughen. So will your heart and soul. That’s necessary for survival. But don’t lose touch with that person deep inside you, or else you won’t really have survived at all.

Sunshine Vitamin!

Along with my trying to drink heaps of water this year I have also added a Vitamin D supplement to my diet. As a vegetarian that does eat fish but wears SPF 40 it is hard for me to get the amount of vitamin D I need.
Here are natural places to get Vitamin D:
Fatty fish
Whole eggs
Beef liver (gross)
Fish liver oils
Mushrooms
Sun (without sunscreen)
I take two 1000 IU a day, one with lunch and one with supper. I also take a Vitamin C and a super multi Vitamin too with these meals! I try to take only half of each of these pills at a time because it is hard for your body to digest a large amount of vitamins at one time, it is much easier if they taken over a period of time.
Benefits of Vitamin D:
Maintenance of healthy bones
An immune system regulator (fights the common cold)
Linked to maintaining a healthy body weight
Can reduce the frequency of asthma symptoms
Reduced the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis
Significantly lowers the risk of developing Cancer
