fall in mutual weirdness
We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”

some things do
Some things don’t last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down on the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person you see there.

life
Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices — today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.

What I learned from Cosmo this month...
February 2011
* "Do me now" sounds lustier with an accent-in Spanish: Tomame ahora, in French- Prends moi vite and in Itallian: Prendimi ora
* As little as five minutes of outdoor exercise is enough to de-blah your day.
* Dudes have a one track mind- In a man's brain, the bridge that communicates between the two hemispheres is smaller than a woman's. Since it's smaller, it can't handle as much through traffic- which explains why dudes are more single-minded and have a harder time multitasking.
*Drinking two glasses of H20 before eating can help melt off fat.
*Purple nail polish and red lips are hot right now.

Don't attach yourself...
Don’t attach yourself to anyone who shows you the least bit of attention because you’re lonely. Loneliness is the human condition. No one is ever going to fill that space. The best you can do is know yourself… know what you want.

feeling
You know that feeling? That feeling when you just want the right thing to fall into the right place, not only because it’s right, but because it would mean that such a thing is still possible? I want to believe that.

DYI Messy Side Ponytail
I had to share this DYI messy side ponytail with you from A Cup of Joe! For pics and more instructions go to her lovely blog! Can't wait to try this one myself:)
1. Start with day-old hair...meaning it's been a day since you've washed it. (If you must wash your hair, then use a volumizing spray to add oomf; and if your hair is oily, use a French dry shampoo to build body and texture.) Now make a deep side part on one side of your hair. You can use a rat-tail comb to get an extra straight part.
2. Backcomb the top quarter of your hair. Basically, brush the hair downwards toward your scalp so it's sort of frizzy and can stand on its own.
3. Gently brush the very top layer of your hair to make it smooth on the top. That way, all the backcombing will be hidden under the layer that you brushed. Still, don't brush too much, you want it a little messy.
4. Take the entire backcombed section and pin it behind your head. To make it secure, place the bobby pins in an "X."
5. Now take all your hair and put it in a low ponytail at the nape of your neck. Tighten the rubber band as tight as you can. This will help "push" your hair up, creating more volume at the top.
5. You can either leave the rubber band exposed, or hide it by taking a small half-inch section of hair from the ponytail and wrapping it around the rubber band. Take a small bobby pin and pin the hair to the rubber band.
6. Rough up the ponytail with your fingers to match the texture at the top of your hair. Use the same motion as you did to back comb, but use your fingers instead, since this will create a messy texture but will be softer and gentler than using a comb. Remember, this look isn't about perfection; it looks best slightly messy.

The Law of Giving and Receiving
I often look at the The Chopra Center website and I read this today and I wanted to share it with you:
The Law of Giving and Receiving: The universe operates through dynamic exchange – giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.
I will put the Law of Giving into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps:
The Law of Giving and Receiving: The universe operates through dynamic exchange – giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe. And in our willingness to give that which we seek, we keep the abundance of the universe circulating in our lives.
I will put the Law of Giving into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps:
- Wherever I go, and whoever I encounter, I will bring them a gift. The gift may be a compliment, a flower, or a prayer. Today, I will give something to everyone I come into contact with, and so I will begin the process of circulating joy, wealth and affluence in my life and in the lives of others.
- Today I will gratefully receive all the gifts that life has to offer me. I will receive the gifts of nature: sunlight and the sound of birds singing, or spring showers or the first snow of winter. I will also be open to receiving from others, whether it be in the form of a material gift, money, a compliment or a prayer.
- I will make a commitment to keep wealth circulating in my life by giving and receiving life's most precious gifts: the gifts of caring, affection, appreciation and love. Each time I meet someone, I will silently wish them happiness, joy and laughter.

never lose hope...
If you lose everything else, never lose your hope in yourself and in this world. Hope rebuilds anything that once was broken. Makes a path when nothing else could. Hope save lives. So I say to all of you don’t lose your hope, don’t give it away, don’t ever let it go. Your hope is priceless just like you.

What I learned from Cosmo this month...
Well actually what I learned from the January Cosmo...
I thought since I am a religous Cosmo reader that this year I would do a monthly blog post about "What I learned from Cosmo this month" So here goes the January report a few days late...
*Drunken Vegas Weddings are Skanky...-who knew?!? And FYI I think a Vegas Wedding could be cool if done properly.
*Drinking beer can cause Psoriasis
*How to use matalic eye shadow to create a sexy, eye-widening effect!!! -Can't wait to try that:)
*To milk your mani- Every other day reapply a clear top coat- It will seal the edges so it can't peal from the sides.-Exciting!!!
*The new male grooming obsession is called "back, sack, and crack." -Wow! That's all I have to say about that...
*You shouldn't mix Alcohol and Acetaminophen because it has a toxic effect on your liver.- Good to know!!!
*The scent of toast is a serious mood booster! - I will be having that for breakfast more often:)
*Eating within an hour of waking up provides instant fuel for your bodies internal engine, making it burn calories all day long! Protein-carb mix best cranks your matabolism. - :)

Life comes with no guarantees
Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances, you just to live life to the fullest. Laugh as much as you can, spend all your money, tell someone what they mean to you, tell someone off, speak out, dare to be different, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone’s hand, comfort a friend, pig out, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late and smile ‘til your face hurts. Don’t be afraid to take chances or fall in love, and most of all live in the moment because when you look back someday, knowing you have no regrets it’s going to be what makes you smile.
