The Law of Least Effort

I subscribe to the Chopra Center on my Facebook so I get updates daily from them. They are so great! The post today I thought was relevant to my life because I have the hardest time accepting people and situations as they are lately... So this is something I really need to work on!!! I hope it helps you too!

The Law of Least Effort: Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease, with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.

I will put the Law of Least Effort into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps:
  1. I will practice acceptance. Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances, and events as they occur. I will know that this moment is as it should be, because the whole universe is as it should be. I will not struggle against the whole universe by struggling against this moment. My acceptance is total and complete. I accept things as they are this moment, not as I wish they were.
  2. Having accepted things as they are, I will take responsibility for my situation and for all those events I see as problems. I know that taking responsibility means not blaming anyone or anything for my situation (and this includes myself.) I also know that every problem is an opportunity in disguise, and this alertness to opportunities allows me to take this moment and transform it into a greater benefit.
  3. Today my awareness will remain established in Defenselessness. I will relinquish the need to defend my point of view. I will feel no need to defend my point of view. I will feel no need to convince or persuade others to accept my point of view. I will remain open to all points of view and not be rigidly attached to any one of them.

More rain...

OK so I was driving home from work today with the full intentions of getting some amazing pictures of Fall colours to share with you and it started to rain!!! I decided to take the back roads anyways and try to get something... this is what I got... and it was a beautiful drive! I can't think of a more beautiful place to be in the Fall than the Annapolis Valley. I will try again to get some better shots, I promise:)

Cold October rain

Today was so incredibly cold and wet I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning! I took this picture when I arrived at work, right after I spilled my hot tea all over me... yes it was one of those days today:) But I did get to see Footloose tonight with my very pregnant friend Michelle and a box of mini M&M's! I can't think of a better way to spend this cold Fall evening!

Fall:)

I'm really excited to take some pictures of the beautiful Fall colours this week! Here is a picture I just took from the back step of Lucy and the tress...

On another note, I can't stop eating candy... you know the small packaged Halloween kind! It gets me every year! I've eaten 5 mini boxes of Junior Mints and 3 of the Mini Charleston Chews... when will it end!

Stop being who you were and become who you are

That is why it is so important to let certain things go. To release them. To cut loose. People need to understand that no one is playing marked cards; sometimes we win and sometimes we lose. Don’t expect to get anything back, don’t expect recognition for your efforts, don’t expect your genius to be discovered or your love to be understood. Complete the circle. Not out of pride, inability, or arrogance, but simply because whatever it is no longer fits in your life. Close the door, change the record, clean the house, get rid of the dust. Stop being who you were and become who you are.

Hunter's moon

There is a Hunter's Moon tonight! It's so beautiful I thought I would take a walk with Leah and the dogs to take some pictures to share with you! This October full moon is named so because plenty of moonlight is ideal for hunters shooting migrating birds in Northern Europe. The name is also said to have been used by Native Americans as they tracked and killed their prey by autumn moonlight, stockpiling food for the winter ahead.

I just think it's so very pretty with all the Fall colours around it!

invite it in for a cup of coffee
