Happy Day

Cash made it through her operation and is home snuggling with me as I post this:) It's such a big relief for me to have her home and doing well. As you can see she's still pretty groggy from her day.

:) Weekend!

Happy weekend my Lovelies!

Cash is getting spayed today so my weekend is going to be filled with taking care of her and making sure she is happy and comfortable. On Sunday my Mother would like to make some gluten free bread from scratch- so we shall see how that goes! I’d also like to catch up on some reading and throw a run and some yoga in there too!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Braid Secret

In a regular braid there are 3 strands. For this look, all you do is braid one of those strands beforehand and loosen it up with your fingers, then braid as usual. This creates extra texture + breaks up the mundane pattern of a regular braid.

Can't wait to try this!!!

Pink Flamingo

I drink about 6-8 cups of tea a day. Usually Pu'rah and Black tea in the AM and herbal in the PM. Now I can have it with my gin... Can't wait to give that a try!

David's Tea describes my afternoon tea today the best:

Florida flashy

Ready for spring break? Try this sweet, citrusy cocktail of oranges, tangerines and lemongrass. It’s got hibiscus and beetroot to turn it a natural shade of hot pink, plus blackberry leaves for a sunny burst of Vitamin C, apple and carrot for extra sweetness, and eucalyptus leaves for kick. Sound irresistible? Try it iced. In a martini glass. With a splash each of cointreau and gin. And a paper umbrella. Caffeine-free.

You Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone

I have recently found my old iPod touch and have been listening to it at work. Among some other awesome music is a bunch of Joni Mitchell songs. Her Hits album is one of my favourites on the planet! Whenever I need good music to describe how I'm feeling, or what's going on in my life I can always count on Joni.

Today, Big Yellow Taxi seems to be the song...

Enjoy your weekend my Lovelies!

Icy Weather

How Nova Scotian of me to write about the weather, but it's been icy and cold all. day. long! The one good thing was how beautiful the trees were! Here's hoping for the 10-30cm of snow we may get in the next 24h;) I'll be snuggled under my electric blanket with Cash until then...

Lucky 7's

This is part of my lunch today:) I am seriously addicted to avocados!

I noticed the name "Lucky 7's" on the sicker, which has me wondering about a few things; who comes up with these names? Who was the farmer that grew this, picked it, etc. Lucky 7's is a cool name for an avocado farm, but what does it have to do with avacados?

I had a watermelon last summer from the US called Randy's Candy. I love it! And it actually tasted like candy!

iPad 2 Fun

I just bought an iPad 2:) partly because I love Mac products, and partly because I wanted an ereader. I had no need for the iPad 3, and I didn't want to spend the extra $100 if I didn't have to. However, if it would have had expandable memory I would have bought it in a second, but sadly it didn't:(

I've downloaded the Kobo app which seems to be working well so far. It took me a while to figure out how to download books but I've got it in business now! I've downloaded all these books so far. I can't wait to read them!

Hunters' Orange Lulu

I've been wishing for years that Lululemon would come out with some hunters' orange clothes for people that run in the country during hunting season. Well, this isn't hunters orange but it's as close as I've seen so far! Too bad it's sold out in my size:(

Chocolate Orange

I'm loving this pu'erh tea from David's tea. It smells like yummy chocolate orange goodness:) it also has some amazing health benefits!

It's often used in Chinese Medicine:

to help cure common cold
help relieve arthritis
lowers blood pressure
invigorates the Spleen
helps us have more energy
boosts our immune system

The Chinese believe that pu-erh tea has greater health benefits than any other green tea.

The antioxidants in pu-erh tea are called flavanoids and are responsible for reducing blood blood pressure and cholesteol.

More immediately usefull for those of us who enjoy a night out is the reviving properties of this tea which help flush out alcohol and recover from a hangover more quickly.
